Whats worse is that this is the same outcome of the November 2008 52% to 47% vote that passed Prop. 8 and I hear people complaining that gays need to get over that they lost the vote: "its a Democracy, it was voted on, now deal with it" and crocodile teared conservatives whining about "when will the supreme court uphold the will of the people?".
First of all we are not a Democracy but rather a republic; however thats neither here nor there. Second, even in a Democracy there is no reason for anyone to stop pushing their own case just because the votes have been cast. Nothing says the results are to be agreed with or accepted by both sides of the issue. I garantee if prop. 8 failed, none of it's supporters would be arguing for "the supreme court [to] uphold the will of the people".
Throughout this blog you will soon realize how slanted I really am. I am quite cynical when it comes to politics, policies, politicians, and political parties, however I remain fair to the issue, and maintain an objectivist undertone.
Now, with that said, I realize that those against proposition 8 would complain the same way if they were in the position of 8 supporters, but there is one main difference:
THEY AREN'T THE ONES IN THE WRONG
